I have known Seb for a very long time. How long? SO LONG. Back in the days of Dreamwidth, when he was first getting Elf’d and I was dealing with having astral kids. So yeah, I’ve known him for a bit.
In the time that I’ve known him, I’ve been lucky enough to see him grow into the amazing, give-no-fucks, elf-cock loving gentleman that you all know today. Recently, he’s been under attack; a smear campaign started by ex-roommates of his who are, apparently, trying to bring him down.
I have a couple of things to say about this.
First, with regards to them spreading his personal gnosis and shitting all over it in public. Dick. Move. When someone shares personal gnosis with you, it’s usually done with an understanding that they are TRUSTING YOU with something sacred to them. As someone who has had their personal gnosis mocked by people they trusted, it’s not fun, and it’s not funny. It’s heartbreaking when people you trust throw that trust back in your face. When you make a mockery of someone’s gnosis, you are doing a disservice to their gods and to yours. If you’re willing to mock someone else’s sacred spirituality, what does that say about your own practice? That doesn’t mean you have to agree, but at least treat the other person and their gnosis with respect.
Second, with regards to them purposefully misgendering Seb. Absolutely unacceptable. I don’t care who you are, but if you intentionally misgender someone, you are being transphobic. That’s not okay. In fact, the people involved could be charged with a hate crime. At the very least, this is a bias incident. Overall, not awesome.
Finally, Seb is a businessman. He promotes his business. If you do not like this, then please feel free to unfollow his blog. He needs to be able to make a living, and the fact that he is able to do so with his online store is AMAZING! I am kinda jealous- who wouldn’t want to be making enough to support themselves while being their own boss? I own some perfume and some jewelry made by him, and he does stellar work. A+ would totally recommend him. Hell, I plan on commissioning him for work in the future.
In conclusion, Seb is an amazing person and a good friend, and if you are thinking of throwing hate at him, please take a look at yourself and how your actions reflect both on you and on your gods.
